One Circle Two Buttons

It’s a strange title I know but that’s the theme of this weeks card challenge at Scrapbook Sisters.

Here’s my card;

The backing paper is from a free 6x6 pad with Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine – it really is very pretty, just my sort of thing! I stamped the bird on an offcut of some patterned kraft paper. The bird stamp is from a strange mixed set of bird stamp where some are realistic like this one and others are almost cartoon birds – I haven’t got a clue where I got it from! The wording is from a set of Kaisercraft stamps and the flowers and leaves are from my stash and of course there are two tiny start buttons too.

Happy Crafting!

Scrapbook Challenge at Scrapbook Sisters

The scrapbook challenge at Scrapbook Sisters is up and running again. The theme is a “stamped background” so it’s a nice and easy one and as long as there are 10 entries there will be a prize – you can even enter twice – so what are you waiting for?????

Here is my DT example. I’ve used some really pretty K & Co papers but unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the range. I have stamped the background with the Stampendous Ruffled Butterfly Stamp which I coloured with pale pink and blue Copics. I added some doodled journaling to bring it all together. the picture is my daughter Holly aged about three or four with a beautiful blue and pink butterfly painted on her face . I have lots of photos of both of the children with their faces painted – it was always something they had to have at any fete or trip to the zoo.

Wedding Time

As the warmer weather approaches (and hopefully it will warm up soon) there are more weddings so at Scrapbook Sisters this weeks challenge is to make a Wedding Card. I decided to go for something a little unusual and went for a less traditional card which was inspired by the little heart stamp from Technique Tuesday.

I had great fun with lots of Bronze embossing powder and the heat gun.  I used a  Versamark embossing ink pad and bronze embossing powder on the hearts on the front and inside of the card, I then put some white cardstock in a script embossing folder and put it through the Cuttlebug. I then wiped the Versamark pad across the raised areas of the embossed cardstock and embossed with the bronze embossing power again. I even heat embossed the border around the oval die cut too. I mounted it all on a Kraft card blank.

Dads Birthday/ Mans Card

This weeks challenge at Scrapbook Sisters is to make a card for  Dads Birthday or a mans card. Well, as it so happens it is my father-in –laws birthday this Thursday so that’s a lucky coincidence.

The stamp was a bargain from the last Stamperama show that I went to reduced to just £2.50. I stamped it in Brown Stazon and then used Distress Inks to paint it. I’m quite pleased with the soft muted effect that it gives. The papers were pirate themed papers which were free with a magazine and I chose a couple of the more manly papers. Hope my father in law likes it!
